Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

We didn't keep Thanksgiving in New Zealand so saying "Happy Thanksgiving" still requires us to think, rather than it just being  a habitual response. It does help us to remember the special things God has given us over the last year so I guess we are starting to understand the essence of the Holiday.

Later today we are going to share supper with some friends who have kindly invited us to their family celebration meal. Good friends is one thing I am extremely thankful for. We have no family living in Canada and having friends willing to include us in their family is greatly appreciated. They help remove the loneliness felt during special Holiday times. These friends are especially cherished as it was with them that we experienced many of our Canadian firsts. LORD, THANKYOU FOR WONDERFUL FRIENDS!

I am also thankful for three amazing children. All of them a blessing from God. We prayed for each one and He gifted them to us along with the love and courage to raise them in His ways. Jellybeans has grown in confidence this year learning to draw from Christ's reassuring love. Wiggles has stepped out in serving others and teaching them of the gift of life as God intended. Kiwi Boy chose Jesus as his Lord and Saviour this year and was baptised! LORD, THANKYOU FOR WONDERFUL CHILDREN!

Papa Bear is one of my greatest treasures. I will always be grateful for him even when I don't show it. Which unfortunately is more often than I would like to admit. This past year Papa Bear has placed himself continuously before Christ and asked Him "Where to Lord, which way now?"  Together we have walked a very difficult path but with Jesus leading us and filling us with His Spirit we have emerged, albeit a little crumpled, standing with Christ before us. LORD, THANKYOU FOR A WONDERFUL HUSBAND!

What I am most grateful for is Jesus my Lord and Saviour, the Holy Spirit my guide and comforter, and God Almighty my Eternal Father. It is in His arms we have been carried this year. Without Him we can not stand with our heads raised, facing the life He has chosen to draw us nearer to Him. The life He has chosen to shine His glory through. LORD, THANKYOU FOR KEEPING YOUR PROMISES!

Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before Him with THANKSGIVING and extol Him with music and song. For the Lord is the great God, the great King above all gods. In His hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to Him. The sea is His, for He made it, and His hands formed the dry land. Come, LET US BOW DOWN IN WORSHIP, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker; for He is God and we are the people of His pasture, the flock under His care.
