My awesome, amazing sister

Yesterday we went to the beach with our friends for a bonfire and Wiggles caught some amazing shots.

Today I was a "model" for Wiggles. We had so much fun and she really made me look good (BONUS!!!)

Wiggles is so talented and I am so pleased to call her my sister.

I can talk to her about anything; we can laugh together and cry together. I honestly don't know what I'd do without her.

Here is to all the wonderful sisters out there! You rock!!!

keep on keeping on

"For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us."
Romans 8:18 kjv

Even though the kids have not really been here that long their English has improved and you can see how their ways are beginning to change.

God is doing a work in their lives already and I can not wait to see who they become in Christ and how He uses them to bring Him glory.

But until then we can be in awe of how the children are already growing.

Their English is improving and when we went to the park other children couldn't even tell that they spoke    different languages.

They are now starting to understand how to play using imagination. Even as I am writing this the children are playing what I think is 'cops and robbers' in dress up costumes. (Which is the first game they have played since coming home)

They are starting to understand what is not acceptable, they might not be so good at following those rules but they know what they are.

I have to give thanks to God for what He is doing and I am truly grateful for the love and blessings that He poured out on my family!

Thanks and GOD Bless!!!!!

Love Abounds!

This week has flown by so fast.

Last Sunday we were introduced as our new larger family at church where we were all prayed for.

The children were then given a quilt each that was made especially for them. What a wonderful blessing!

Princess wiggled and wiggled one of her teeth until it finally came out! She was excited and proud to display it to anyone who would look, and to those who didn't want to look.

All the children helped to bake cookies for the local Royal Canadian Mounted Police Station.

Wiggles had an interesting time trying to deliver them with her friends later in the day. Lets just say the Fire Station enjoyed their snack that night!

Overall it has been a great week.

Thank you for your continued prayer!!!

Changes

Changes are a given when adopting.

Over the last few days those changes have begun to fray nerves.

Understanding and patience is depleting.

Expected dreams and perceived promises have not immediately appeared.

Frustration is beginning to emerge.

Emotions born of uncertainty and lack of trust are bubbling over as anger.

Yet the knowledge that they are accepted, wanted, chosen, and loved keeps the children (and us) smiling.

Home One Week

This week has been very full.

Gently.

The children have made new friends
and explored their environment.

Softly does it.

One new friend we are not going to encourage is the beautiful black 'cat' with the white stripe down its back and tail.
Madam Skunk is not welcome any time she wants to visit!

Almost.

Some how Papa Bear managed to get across the language barrier that skunks spray stinky bad smells and eat our chicken eggs.

Well done!

So wanting to help Papa Bear the children have been chasing the skunk away every morning.
Yesterday they ran inside pinching their noses and waving their hands behind their backs and shouting "Chickens!"

Catch them if you can!

Sure enough after going outside to investigate I could smell the distinctive scent of Madam Skunk.
Thankfully she hadn't sprayed any of the children directly!

WOW!!!

Today the children helped to put the chickens into secure movable chicken cages so we can work on sending Madam Skunk on her way permanently.

POP, all gone!

Hair and other fun things!!

I have such amazing friends who came and spent the day with me and my sisters!

One of them brought 2 garbage bags of stuffed toys for the kids to chose from, Buttons got a dog that is larger than he is!

In return for the toys we did her hair and makeup. The girls also got a turn in the hair chair.
One friend of mine loves to do hair, so she spent the afternoon curling hair and  applying makeup. She had a real blast!

After this Warrior and I did some Origami and made paper boxes.

All together I had a great day today! One that makes it hard to remember that my family has only been home for a couple of days.

Thanks and GOD Bless!!!!

Life begins again

The children travelled very well and apart for one of them loosing their lunch at the end of the longest flight there was no major problems.

Boarder Crossing Immigration granted the children 6 month visitors visas which was a huge answer to prayer. This gives lots of time for their Permanent Resident Visas to come through.

Wiggles and Jelly Beans are absolutely adored by their new siblings! Kiwi Boy is struggling a little with the boys sharing his bedroom and touching his stuff but even this is going better than expected.

Princess had a trip to the dentist this morning to deal with two teeth that have been causing a lot of pain. She was so brave! We believe she has been to a dentist before but having strangers that you can't understand poking around in your mouth with super large needles has got to be terrifying.

The Warrior played backyard soccer today with some family friends and the smile on his face was worth a thousand words. Even though there were no common words the language barrier disappeared between all the boys once a ball was introduced.

Treasure is enjoying all the attention Wiggles and her friends are handing out. She is even attempting to sing the words of the clapping games the older girls are teaching her.

Buttons is having fun with the wii . Finally something he is allowed to push all the buttons on! He especially likes car racing games where he just keeps speeding up until the car crashes and bursts into flames. Hopefully this is not what his style of driving will be like in the future.

Thank you for all of your prayers to bring our children home safely!

Please continue to pray that their transition into family life is fairly smooth. I don't think I would cope as well as them if I was removed from everything I knew and placed into a home where the people spoke a strange language I didn't understand and expected me to obey strange rules I couldn't comprehend the reasons for.

These children are truly brave people!
