Day 5

Today we meet with the court lawyer and she went over what Papa Bear and I have to do in court. We both have to give about a five minute speech on why we wish to adopt these four children. What is so special about the children and Lithuania. Our personal experiences with adoption. And why we need to bring them home urgently.

This is not a road but a driveway.
It is a closed court proceedings, even the children will not be present as we do all the required legal stuff. The children will be brought in before the judge at/near the end of everything and we may have to leave the room. They will then be asked what they feel about the idea of being in a family, our family.

The cars are parked in any-which-way, wherever they can squeeze in.
Sometimes two deep!
Unfortunately we can not post any photos of the children before we receive the judges ruling. We have been told he needs to write a 5-7 page report after the court hearing and that we may not have his ruling until Monday, or Tuesday, or even Wednesday.

We are in the gray and red sections, second floor.
Meanwhile the children are attaching to us, living in fear of having to return to the orphanage, and trying to figure out if we are trust worthy. Having the waiting period of 40 days waived is most important to the building of our family.

The white curtains on the windows are metal roller-doors that are lowered at night.
The photos I have included are of the buildings and courtyard area where we are staying. This whole area was badly damaged during WWII because it was the heart of the Jewish Ghetto! Buildings that had enough structure left to rebuild were unfortunately demolished by the Soviets during the "remodeling/development" of the city.

There is a playground and empty space in the centre of the courtyard with buildings all around.
Have a great day wherever you are and thanks for praying for us!

Mumzy
