A Homeless Wander?

He might as well have been born in a train station restroom.

Yet by 12 he was a rising child prodigy.

After finishing school he remained at home and worked
in his step-fathers carpentry factory.
He showed no real hope for the child star
he should have been.

By 30 he had become a homeless wandering looser.
Someone to avoid,
someone to look down upon,
someone to pity.
The lowest of the low.

Even though he was without a steady job
he had hope in his eyes.
Compassion in his words.
Love in his actions.

Many of the homeless, the drug addicted, the prostitutes,
the drunkards, the terminally ill, found his words of hope
too good to turn away from.
Eventually even politicians and the wealthy
had to check out his story.

Some believed his claims.
Some turned away saying he was crazy in the head.
Others began to hate him.
Hate for his accusations, hate him for his wild stories.
They began to hate even the sight of him.

They reported him to the authorities
and had him arrested as a terrorist.
A threat to national security.

He was interrogated, beaten,
and finally killed on the torture rack.

Yet they could not hold back what he did next!

Even though they tried to cover it up
with false reports, the spread of conspiracy stories,
and complete lies.

Just a few days later he was seen walking and talking,
breathing and laughing.
Once again telling his wild stories of love,
hope, and forgiveness.

Yes, he had returned from the grave!
He was completely dead, a corpse,
but now he was visiting with his friends.
Not as a ghost or a spirit, but as a man.
Someone you could touch, hug, laugh and eat with.

Always he would speak of life, new life.
A life without the chains of addictions and worries and stress.
A life that gave eternal freedom!

"I am the way, the truth and the life.
No-one comes to the Father except through me!"
~ Jesus the Saviour  (John 14:6)

Read the book of John in the Holy Bible to hear
John's version of this amazing man's life.
The man named Jesus.

Happy Easter Everyone!

Lots of love, Mumzy
