Life Continues On

I am waiting...

Waiting to hear about our adoptions...

Are we ever going to be approved for this beautiful sibling group of four?

Are we ever going to get to bring them home, home as our sons and daughters?

Then I remember it has only been a week (10 days to be exact!) since Lithuania received the last of our documents.

Agghhh, patience!

Meanwhile life goes on...

The dishes keep piling up...

The dust bunnies keep growing...

The laundry waits to be folded...

Lord please help me to focus on the little things in life, and getting my housework done!

They have just WON

So I am assuming you have all realized that I like to write poetry.

In honor of Little Monkey who is visiting us I would like to share a poem with you about the miracle that we call children.

Little Ones
When they cry we wipe their tears
When they laugh we laugh along
Yes we are all like mother bears
We always want little ones to belong

Their feet are so small
It makes our hearts so big
Which grow when they crawl
Which grow if they sleep in the crib

When they are grown maybe
They will feel  joy in having a little one
The love of having their own baby
This is the love they have just won

Thanks and GOD Bless!!!!

Movies!!!

We got there nice and early.
For Kiwi Boy's birthday I told him that I would take him to the movies, just him and I.

We chose to go to the LEGO MOVIE. It was a lot of fun!

Though I definitely think that the best part of it all was getting to spend time with my little (and now bigger than me) bro.

The required sugar :)
It doesn't get to happen very often any more because I'm at university so it is extra special when we get to hang out!

Waiting for the movie to start.
It's because of such an awesome brother and sister that I can't wait to meet my new brothers and sisters. I am looking forward to being their big sister.

God Hears!

Thank you so much for your faithful prayers!

Our New Zealand documents have arrived in Lithuania. No issues, no problems, no hold ups. Just straight through to the hands that needed them.

Now we wait for the official proposal to be sent to Canada. And Canada's favourable approval of course!

I am so excited and absolutely terrified at the same time!

Once the approval is given by Canada we will receive photos and video of the children. And the children will be told they have a forever family waiting for them all.

It will be very terrifying for them as they begin to understand that they are to leave everything that they know behind to fly away and live with a bunch of strangers that they know nothing about.

I pray each night that we will be an answer to their prayers. That in their hearts they have a dream to have a family that they can belong to. I pray that this dream will give them the courage to overcome their fears.

We are coming kids and we will love you forever!

Swim meet!

Last weekend we finished the last swim meet of the university season, well except for the swimmers on the team who qualified for the Canadian Inter-University meet.

Our team had tons of fun and everyone swam really well. There was medals won and best times made. One of my friends qualified for CIS which is awesome!

At the hotel drying my suit.
I placed 4th in all my races except for 1 where I came fifth (the 50 meters backstroke). Over all that's not bad considering I'm a first year student and you compete against swimmers in every year of their degree.

Here's to an awesome season completed and a great season to come!

At the airport waiting for the plane (lots of time to study!)

No Greater Love

What is love?
Is it a thing we say,
A thing we do,
Or just a figment of our imagination?
Maybe that is all it is, something that
We can say to someone
Just for them to say it back.
Love is something that people
spend their whole lives
 searching for.
But when people find this love
To share with others,
It is so fleeting.
We think we have it,
And then...
It disappears on us,
Just as quickly as we found it.
Why do we even have this,
This thing that is called love.
All it does is cause our hearts to break.

Yet without this love
We could not understand
 His sacrifice.
His amazing sacrifice that changed everything.
The sacrifice of God the Father
 In giving us Jesus Christ
His one and only Son.
 We could not understand why.
Why He did this for us,
Or even what He has done.
He has done this for us
 Even though
we are not deserving.
 Not deserving of the blessings
 He gives us.
 We can't even see
The meaning of the pain that He feels
When we turn our eyes from Him.
No we would be at a loss,
Unless we could feel this thing we call love.

Is this why
God gives us that one person
That we never forget?
No matter how hard we try
They always seem to be in our thoughts.
Always there
Consuming us.
Always being the one
That we compare everything
and everyone to.
That special someone,
That we thought only existed
in the fairy tales read to us
before bed each night.
That someone who we can truly
Have a long lasting love for,
And be able to share everything with.
Just so that we can see
 And feel the sacrifice
That God gave each of us?

But yet, no matter what we do,
We could never love
To the same extent that He loves.
 His love is so big,
So daringly deep,
So wonderfully wide,
So unimaginable,
 it blows the mind
Just to think about it.
Just to think about the miracles
that were done in love.
Just to think about the sacrifices
that were fulfilled by this love.
Just to scratch the surface
Of the love that is poured out on us each and every day.
It's such a awe-inspiring thing.
For truly there is no greater love,
Yes, no greater love could ever exist
Because he gave it all for us.
All of it.

Thank you Lord
For this love that is incomprehensible.
That is above and beyond
Anything else that we have ever felt before,
Or even that we could ever dream.
This love that you give,
 It is such a love
That makes all else pale
 In comparison.
Nothing can ever been seen in the same way
Because of this gift
That You have given.
 Lord your gift
 Is truly great and unbelievable.
 This love that you give
 Has no superior.
Nothing will ever
come close to what you have given.
For truly there is no greater love, than the grace of
OUR SAVIOUR, JESUS CHRIST!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Always remember who gives us the ultimate Love!

Thanks and GOD Bless

Adoption Update For February

As yet another winter storm rages outside excitement is building in our home.

Things are moving!

All of our New Zealand documents are done!

Right now they are on a jet plane flying over the great blue ocean heading for Lithuania. Once in Lithuania the lawyer will file them with the Lithuanian Government Adoption Services so an official proposal can be written.

The official proposal will then be presented to our Provincial Adoption Services here in Canada for approval.

Once the approval is given our case will be allocated a Lithuanian Judge and we will finally be given a court date which will give us a time line.

What does all this really mean?

We have some more waiting to do!

Please pray that the documents don't get lost in the Great Blue Yonder, like my passport did. Time is important, the Lithuanian Government will hold our match with the sibling group for only a short time period.

Thank you for helping us to bring our children home with your prayers!

Prayer

Yesterday I received a phone call from my Mum back in New Zealand. While I shared the joy and excitement of growing our family through adoption she shared the sorrow of my Step Dad's illness.

About four or five weeks ago my Step Dad went to see the doctor after having some chest pain. When they attached the monitors onto his chest the nurse noticed a large oddly shaped mole on his tummy. After some tests were done it was confirmed to be skin cancer.

This week he went back to the doctor and five more melanomas have been found on his body. He is to have an operation in three weeks on the large one on his tummy. If the doctors are unable to remove it all they have estimated his life span to be only 6 months more.

It is so hard to be on the other side of the world and not be able to see him. So hard to not be able to give him and my Mum a hug. To help them as they need it.

What I can do is pray!

Pray for courage, pray for peace, and pray that they know The Saviour fully and personally.

God Almighty sees all, knows all, and loves all!

We love you Mum and Dad,

Mumzy

Forgiving is Good for the Soul.

Have you ever had one of those days when every- thing seems to be going wrong?

Maybe someone did not look and cut you off in traffic. Possibly someone else hurt your feelings or injured your pride.

We may have been wronged, but what is more important is how we react to that wrong.

Instead of thinking about "pay back", I find handing it over to God makes all the difference. I have enough on my plate without bottling up "stuff" that will just eat away at me.

The following verses are very helpful in getting me to focus on what's important.

Ephesians 4v31-32. "Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Have a great day and take care.

Gold

So as some of you might know I volunteer at my local Pregnancy centre. I volunteer with some of the most amazing people I will ever meet.

When I was there yesterday one of my fellow volunteers showed me a music video by Britt Nicole. I thought that it was a rather amazing song that says a lot. Just click on the link below to listen to the song.

We are worth more than gold and the Lord loves us no matter what! I hope you enjoy the song as much as I do, Gold by Britt Nicole!

A Day of Celebrations

February 6 is Waitangi Day in New Zealand. It is a day to celebrate New Zealand as a nation. A day to celebrate being a Kiwi (the name New Zealanders call themselves, after the native Kiwi bird not Kiwi fruit).

February 6 was the day my ancestors landed in New Zealand in 1840. It is a day to celebrate their courage and desire to serve God first. They held a church service right on the beach where they landed on their first Sunday in this exotic land called New Zealand.

February 6 is now my most exciting day. A day for our family to celebrate together. Today we found out we have been matched by Lithuania to the sibling group of four we are interested in.

WE HAVE BEEN CHOSEN TO BE THEIR FOREVER FAMILY!!!!

Our local government still needs to approve the proposal so we are not fully there yet. But there are no contrasts to our approved homestudy so that should be straight forward.

We are also still waiting for our New Zealand documents to come through. Nothing can proceed until Lithuania has them.

And this is our 100th posting so we celebrate our blog as well.

Celebrate good times with praises to the King of Kings!

One Step Back, Two Steps Forward

Things have been getting me down. I have been wondering if this adoption thing is really going to happen. I have been focusing on what is behind me. Almost 20 years of trying with no success.

One step back.

But we must look forward. Have hope for the future. A future where we walk every step with our Saviour.

Faith!

And then He rewarded us with two steps forward.

For some unknown reason our Police Checks in New Zealand were not adequate for adoption so we had to do them again. They are now done and every piece of required paper work, plus a few extras, are having their final legal stamp placed on them now.

One step forward!

We had to fill out extra forms for immigration, the right forms. They were delivered to the right office on Monday. Today, 2 days later, we received an email stating we are approved for sponsoring 4 children into Canada.

Two steps forward!

Faith developed...

Hope restored...

Christ Praised!
