I'M BACK! Part 2: Dali camp

The first ministry that we worked with was the Wanhua Hope Team.

This team works in the area of Taipei known as the "armpit of Taipei".

We joined with them and a whole lot of Taiwanese friends to lead a bilingual camp at one of the elementary schools.

It was amazing fun!

The kids grew relationships

Small group

learned about how important they are

Treasure hunt where they learn that they are the  treasure!

and got a small insight into who God is.

Giving my testimony (and getting it translated)

Learning that God created the world!

This time is among my favorite memories in Taiwan.

Playing games in the school playground in the afternoon.

I felt like I was in the right place at the right time and all because God had opened doors and had lead me to Taiwan to be with the kids and to build relationships with some AWESOME Taiwanese people.

Eating lunch together after the camp day

I feel so blessed even as I think back on the time we had at Dali camp.

I'M BACK! Part 1: The team

Since I am now no longer plagued by jet lag (there is an 11 hour difference between home and Taiwan!) I can write some updates about how Taiwan went!

The team I was with was AMAZING!!!!!

We were five girls  (six including our AWESOME coordinator).

We came from all different parts of the world:

Germany
My room mate :)

Norway
Playing with a toy from her childhood
(she was born in Taipei, her parents were missionaries).

U.K.
Finding the capital city of her birth country
(she lives in Scotland now)

Belgium
Finding something from home in Taiwan!

Canada
We had to resort to Mac Donald's when everything was closed because of a Typhoon.

U.S.A.
Our terrific coordinator teaching the kids to dance!

We were/are all interested in being apart of long term missions.

I am so blessed to have been able to go to Taiwan and meet these amazing women who despite meeting each other for the first time in Taiwan always  had each others backs from the moment we all met!

Someone's Home!!!

After traveling for 30 hours Jelly Beans finally got home last night, or rather at 1am this morning.

Kiwi Boy and I had stayed up eagerly waiting for her return. Papa Bear had gone into the city to meet her at the airport. The younger kids actually slept through and didn't hear a thing (which shows how much safer they are feeling at night)!

All the kids climbed into her bed as soon as they were aware she was awake this morning.

Then they had fun examining the little things she had managed to bring back from Taiwan.

Most of all they are enjoying Big Sister Hugs!

I love this little cookbook. If only I could understand what the ingredients are!

Now I can't wait to hear some of the stories she has to tell!
